Chelsea Old Town Hall register office is the perfect venue for a small intimate wedding, as popular with celebrities as it is with us ‘normal’ folk – you’ll be joining the likes of David Niven, Judy Garland and Marco Pierre White! I’ve photographed so many weddings there now I’m pretty friendly with the lovely people who’ll marry you.

This time I was there for the wedding of Yasmin and Andy, who travelled down from York for the occasion to be with their family and friends. The ceremony was in the Brydon Room, and I started early to catch all the hugs and laughter as we waited to go in.

Afterwards we all gathered on the steps outside for the classic confetti shot – it’s a classic for a reason, it’s such a lovely moment! And then it was off to Tom’s Kitchen for lunch, another popular venue for small weddings as it’s just ten minutes walk away and has a perfectly sized private reception and dining room upstairs, not to mention a delicious menu.

On the way we stopped off to make a couple of lovely portraits of Yasmin and Andy, and I especially love the moment a nice old lady stepped out to sweep her doorstep and wish them well. People can be so lovely!

For all the details of everyone who helped make Yasmin and Andy’s wedding happen scroll down to the end of the gallery, and if you’re planning your own wedding and looking for a Chelsea, London or destination wedding photographer I’d love to hear from you.
